Frequently asked questions

How do I find my team?

Tap the Search tab and type your gym name or team name. We cover thousands of All Star programs. If your team isn't showing up, email us and we'll look into it.

Why are scores missing for an event?

HitZero pulls scores automatically from Varsity TV and other public sources. Scores typically appear within a few hours of posting. For independent events that we don't yet cover, you can submit scores directly through the app — just tap the "Submit Score" option on the event or team profile page. Community-submitted scores are labeled accordingly and help us build more complete coverage. If you believe scores should have been picked up automatically and haven't appeared after 24 hours, let us know.

My team isn't in the app — can I add it?

Yes! If your team or program doesn't appear in search results, you can submit it for inclusion. Tap "Can't find your team?" at the bottom of search results to provide your gym name, team name, and division. Our team reviews submissions and typically adds new teams within 48 hours. You can also email support@hitzerocheer.com with the details.

How do I update my team's information?

If your team's division, gym name, or other details are out of date, you can suggest corrections directly from the team profile page — tap the "Suggest Edit" option. Coaches and verified gym staff can also email support@hitzerocheer.com to request updates. We rely on our community to keep information accurate and appreciate every correction.

Can I submit scores for events HitZero doesn't cover?

Absolutely. HitZero supports community score submissions for independent events, local competitions, and any event where automated coverage isn't available. From the team profile or event page, tap "Submit Score" and enter the details. Submitted scores appear with a "User Submitted" badge so everyone knows the source. If you're a coach, your submissions can be marked as "Coach Verified" once your account is verified.

How do push notifications work?

When you follow a team, you can enable push notifications for score updates, performance reminders, and schedule drops. You can manage notification preferences in the app under your profile settings, or turn them off entirely in iOS Settings → Notifications → Hit Zero Cheer.

What's included in the free tier vs. paid subscription?

The free tier lets you follow 1 team with ad-supported access to scores and schedules. The full subscription ($4.99/month or $39.99/year) unlocks unlimited team follows, push notifications, offline caching, and an ad-free experience. A 30-day free trial is available at first launch.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Go to iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Hit Zero Cheer, then tap Cancel Subscription. You'll retain access through the end of your current billing period.

The app isn't working offline — what should I do?

Offline caching requires a paid subscription. Make sure you've opened the app and loaded your team's data while connected to the internet before heading to the venue. If you're a subscriber and still having issues, contact us.

I see incorrect score data — how do I report it?

You can flag incorrect data directly in the app by tapping the score and selecting "Report Issue." Alternatively, email support@hitzerocheer.com with the team name, event name, and the correct information. We'll investigate and update the data as quickly as possible. Community corrections help us maintain accuracy across thousands of events.

Does HitZero collect data about athletes?

No. HitZero tracks teams only — we never collect, store, or display data about individual athletes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your HitZero account and all associated data at any time. This will remove your account, followed teams, notification preferences, and any submitted scores.

To request deletion, email support@hitzerocheer.com with the subject line "Delete my account" from the email address associated with your account. We'll process your request within 7 days.
